Megan has been such a great help to our family and our dog Rocky, a golden doodle. I probably wouldn't have ever hired a professional trainer -- but after Rocky ran into a busy street and was nearly hit, it was time to get serious.. Megan has worked with us on and off for at least six months, and has helped us in so many ways. Whether it was helping us to stop Rocky's barking from bothering my neighbor, or helping us get him to stop pulling my wife during walks, or helping us achieve our biggest goal of being being able to walk him safely, off leash, Megan was able to guide to reach these goals. Megan is patient, smart, accessible, and a great K9 problem solver, but the thing we love most of all about Megan is that she takes time to not only understand Rocky's personality, but our family situation. She's always thinking about training solutions that are feasible for us. And she's been terrific about coaching our family in working with Rocky. We've learned so much from Megan, and we hope to keep working with her.
Megan has completely changed our life and our relationship with our dog Maverick!
Maverick struggled with reactivity and was never properly socialized as a puppy. He would lunge, bark, and go crazy around other dogs that taking him on a short walk around the block would bring so much stress and anxiety. We first went through a group training class when Mav was about 6 months old and while that helped with obedience, it did nothing to help his reactivity. We knew we needed professional help and we couldn’t be happier to have found Megan.
She is amazing at what she does and teaches in a way that is so calming and approachable (it’s like listening to a friend). We only signed up for 6 sessions but she truly made herself available to help with all of our concerns in between each session, constantly checking up and making sure we didn’t have any questions or concerns.
By our 3rd session, Mav, for the very first time, walked with a loose leash right past a dog and redirected his attention to me… I thought I’d never see the day!!
Since our 6 sessions, we’ve continued to build on Mav’s training. I’ve now taken him with me everywhere he’s allowed like restaurants, stores, parks (even a pumpkin patch farm!) and he has so much more impulse control. He is also getting so much better at making decisions, like knowing when to redirect his hyper fixation on other dogs or when to go into a “down” when off leash dogs approach.
Training with Megan has been the best thing we’ve ever done for Maverick. He has so much more freedom now and I’m so excited for him to finally start living his best life.
I had my 6 year old pittie stay with Megan for a 4week board and train. They mainly worked on socialization with other dogs, healing/loose leash walking, and strong recall. Its made a huge difference not having my 65lb dog pulling me on our walks and now he can be much calmer around other dogs. He had a blast during his training playing with other dogs and going on hikes. Megan was awesome with communication- providing updates over text/email and uploading photos and videos of his progress into a google drive. Even afterwards she has been so helpful with my follow up questions and she always provides a detailed summary of things we worked on or discussed. Definitely recommend!
Megan is the absolute best! My sdit(service dog in training), Bodie, and I started working with Megan almost a year ago and I am so incredibly proud of our progress so far. Megan is accommodating, patient, and such a great teacher. Whenever I have questions outside of our sessions she is quick to reply and truly so nice (& so encouraging)! Her knowledge about dogs is so impressive and I would highly recommend working with Megan. My pup and I are so lucky to have found her!
