Private lessons are between the trainer, the owner, and their dog. For an hour, you and your dog will learn new skills, and we will cover concepts and techniques to help you work toward your goals. After each lesson, you will receive a recap email detailing the lesson’s content, instructions, and activities to practice until our next lesson.
Private lessons are great for strengthening the bond and relationship with your dog. These lessons require consistent work from the owner. As the trainer, I am there to teach you how to train your dog and support you throughout the training process, but the success of the training relies on the dedication of the owner. A board and train may better suit your needs if you cannot provide the commitment, time, and consistency.
Wether you book private lessons, group lessons, or board and trains, For Paws is a CGC Evaluator and offers testing for titles like AKC S.T.A.R Puppy, Canine Good Citizen, Urban Canine Good Citizen, and Advanced Canine Good Citizen for all For Paws clients who are ready to test their skills.
*For Paws offers a 10% discount for private lessons located in some parts of North Eastern Illinois. Please contact us for eligibility and details.
Virtual lessons are a remote option we offer for our clientele. Similar to in-person lessons, the owner and I meet over Zoom for an hour to discuss current techniques and concepts. Clients send videos throughout the week to update me on their progress so I can create a plan for our next lesson.
Consistency and self-discipline are necessary from the client if we expect to make any progress from training. While this is true for all the services I offer, it is especially important when we are not meeting face to face where I can critique and stay on top of your handling.
Although an in-person evaluation is not required for this service, it is highly recommended.
